Feature in Sangam-The Australia India Design Platform

Sangam-The Australia India Design Platform is a new project to facilitate conversations and collaborations between designers and craft persons from India and Australia. Its an exciting and timely concept with so much interest between the two countries.I have been working out of India now for over 10 years, and I would have to admit I'm in love with the vibrancy and traditions that are living and continuing in modern India. So I was very pleased and honoured to be chosen as a pathfinder on the Sangam web site, ,Id like to thank Kevin Murray for continuing to be such a visionary in fostering relationships and projects where others don't dare to venture.

Inspirations of celestial roses

 Eighteenth century watercolour from jaipur
Wild Indian roses, they smelt as beautiful as they looked
 Hand made paper colours,so pretty
My new 1000 petaled lotus scarf inspired by celestial dreamings,in wool

Currently in India designing for WorldWeave.

I'm currently in India designing rugs for WorldWeave.
Its been a crazy time travelling between Jaipur and Delhi, all the rugs are made from natural fibers such as jute and wool, its been fun mixing weaves and patterns on such a large scale for the floor. Amongst the cows, food stalls, grime and Indian cheer,I'm finding much to be inspired by.India is a living hot bed of hand skills and traditional know how.
Mother India you shine like a  jewel on planet earth.
To see my previous collections and how it all comes together at the end go to www.worldweave.com.au

A old piece is about to be transformed into new portable seating!

Starting to mix weaves for rugs as I do for textiles
